Business cards can be traced back to the 17th century and the nobility of Europe. At the time they called visiting cards and were presented to the servant of a household when nobility came calling. Later they were called trade cards in 17th century London when tradespeople used them to describe the businesses and locations.
In the 18th century, calling cards were used to announce the arrival of a man calling on a lady. By the late 18th century, the ideas of the trade cards and calling cards were combined into what is now known as business cards.
With such a long and storied history, it is no wonder business cards are still in use today.
Business card displays now make it easier to get vital contact information into the hands of potential customers and clients. Card displays can be set or mounted just about anywhere. With the variety of styles and configurations now on the market, there is no reason for any business or business person to do without this valuable tool. Whether you have one card or 12 to display, there is a business card holder to match your needs.
What benefits can you derive from business card holders?
In addition to business information, the acrylic holders can also be used to display other small media. Store credit cards or gift cards are often placed in the cases near the register or checkout stand to increase clientele and expand the customer base. Other times, simple gift certificates are placed in the pockets.

To clean acrylic, polystyrene and plexiglass that has slight blemishes, fingerprints or dirt, start off by clearing away any debris. Then, use a premium micro-fiber cloth with alcohol cleaning solution or soapy water to clean the entire surface area. After wetting the cloth, be sure to lightly blot the surface, rather than applying pressure as you wipe. Too much pressure can actually result in more scratches. After you have wiped the entire piece of acrylic, use the dry side of the cloth to dry or buff the area. Buffing or polishing the acrylic surface reduces future stains. If there are any remaining streaks, rewet the cloth and dry again.
Choose Carefully: There are a couple of cleaning items that you'll want to stay away from. In fact, using the wrong cleaning product can completely damage your acrylic displays to the point that they become unusable!
